The boat leaves from Ghent and sails through Afsnee, Drongen and Saint-Martens-Latem into Baarle and back.

FROM ABBEY TO BREWERY

This guided historical walk tels us the sotry of the origin of beer, the Abbeys and their Fathers, to end with the modern brewery from nowadays. At the end of the tour, we offer you a beer to taste from our city brewery 'Gruut'.

THE PAINTERS OF THE SCHOOL OF SAINT-MARTENS-LATEM

For interested groups (from min. 25 persons) and with reservation in advance, you can book a guided walk between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In Saint-Martens-Latem, where you learn everything about the painters of the School Of Saint-Martens-Latem and other interesting facts about this picturesque village.

CASTLE OF OOIDONK

At the change of the previous century the area around La Lys in the southwest of Ghent attracted several artists. Many painters would bring life to the Lys landscape using brush and paint. Poets could, through the ever changing length of their verses, evoke the meandering river. Also composers were inspired by its beauty.

In one of the Lys' many enchanting curves, between Deinze and Ghent, a surprisingly charming, well-furnished and well-kept 16th century estate is located: 'The Castle of Ooidonk.'. The special appeal of this castle, compared to most others open to the public, is that it is friendly and welcoming, in an excellent state of preservation and still lived-in. It is indeed still a home, as it has been for centuries which makes it a remarkable record of continuity.
